Die Welsh Cobs sind seit mehr als 800 Jahren ein fester Bestandteil der walisischen Kultur. Während sie in früheren Jahrhunderten vornehmlich für landwirtschaftliche Arbeiten und als Transportmittel im Geschirr und unter dem Sattel eingesetzt wurden, stehen die Welsh Cobs heute im Mittelpunkt des walisischen Pferdesports. Moderne Welsh Cobs sind vielseitige, umgängliche Familien-Freizeitpferde, mutige Kutschpferde und trittsichere Jagdpferde mit natürlicher Springveranlagung.

Welsh Partbred

In der Anpaarung mit Vollblütern und blutgeprägten Rassen wie dem Irish Sport Horse liefert der Welsh Cob die Grundlage für das Welsh Partbred, welches als vielseitiger, umgänglicher und bewährter Partner im Freizeitsport zunehmend an Anerkennung und Bedeutung als vermögendes und leistungsbereites Sport- und Turnierpferd gewinnt.

Labhraoloinsigh Cobs

Ziel der Zucht auf dem Getzer Hof ist es, den alten, traditionellen Welsh Cobtyp mit seinen Wesensmerkmalen zu erhalten und dabei stets besonderes Augenmerk auf die Qualität und die Umgänglichkeit der Cobs zu richten. Mit Bedacht ausgewählte, bewährte Blutlinien und die artgerechte und gleichermaßen menschenbezogene Haltung und Aufzucht der Pferde sind die Zutaten für einen echten Labhraoloinsigh Cob.    

Welsh Cobs

Welsh Cobs are a vital part of welsh culture for more than 800 years. While they were used mostly as a means of transport in harness and under saddle as well as for agricultural duties in centuries long gone, the Welsh Cobs of nowadays stage at the centre of Welsh horse industry. Modern Welsh Cobs are versatile, amiable family and pleasure mounts, courageous harness horses and surefooted hunting steeds with a natural ability to jump.

Welsh Partbred

The cross between the Welsh Cob and a thoroughbred or a halfbred horse similar to the Irish Sport Horse forms the foundation for the versatile Welsh Partbred. The Welsh Partbred is increasingly respected for its successes as willing and able sport horse and pony on the international circuit.

At GETZER FARM we endeavour to maintain the Cob of old traditional type with its original traits. Great care is taken to preserve the quality and the Cob’s innate friendly temperament. Carefully selected, proven bloodlines as well as the careful and affectionate yet natural and horse-friendly upbringing and keep of our horses are the ingredients for a true Labhraoloinsigh Cob.
